Although the mechanisms of this activation have not been clearly established in colorectal cancer (CRC), it could result from gain of copies of the EGFR gene, or overexpression of EGFR ligands that have both been suggested to be markers of sensitivity to anti-EGFR (Moroni et al, 2005; Sartore-Bianchi et al, 2005; Khambata-Ford et al, 2007; Cappuzzo et al, 2008a; Personeni et al, 2008). Here, EGFR is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
