Current results showing an overexpression of KLK6 in CRC may be explained by the fact that KLK6 acts as a mediator of K-Ras-dependent migration of CRC cells, as reported by Henkhaus et al (2008a) and that K-RAS mutations are common in CRC, occurring in approximately 50% of cases. This evidence concerns the gene KRAS and colorectal carcinoma.
