In simple linear regression analysis, serum levels of S100A8 in RA patients were positively associated with ACPA, RF, carriage of HLA-DRB1*0401, RAGE 82S and of the RA-associated HLA-DR shared epitope [50], serum levels of S100A9, S100A12 and radiographic joint space narrowing. This evidence concerns the gene S100A8 and rheumatoid arthritis.
