Although the reduced HOMA-IR value could support the fact that insulin resistance in fructose chow-fed rats was ameliorated by 14-day DBT treatment, DBT was found to increase whole-body insulin sensitivity in fructose chow-fed rats as evidenced by the marked elevation of ISIcomp in these animals after 2-week administration, as did rosiglitazone treatment. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is Insulin resistance.
