The BMI1 gene is widely expressed in diverse human tumors, including lymphomas, non-small cell lung cancer, B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and neuroblastoma [14-21], and has been shown to be a useful prognostic marker in myelodysplastic syndrome and many cancers, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma and gastric cancer [14-21].
