Based on the function of the gene products, the investigators divided the SNPs into four subgroups: innate immunity (IFNA13, IL15, STAT1, and TLR8), chemotaxis (CCL8, ITGB2, and VCAM), adaptive immunity (CD28 and STAT1), and allergic asthma (MS3A2, ADAM33, IL4R, and IL9R). Here, STAT1 is linked to allergic asthma.
