Angiostatin (AST) in an angiogenic setting using the matrigel sponge angiogenesis assay in C57bl mice [27] effectively inhibited angiogenesis produced by inclusion of a potent angiogenic cocktails, either supernatants from Kaposi's sarcoma cells or a combination of VEGF and TNFα [26]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is Kaposi's sarcoma.
