Additionally, we observed linkage to regions containing genes within the interferon-γ (IFNγ)/interleukin (IL)-12 pathway, including IL12RB2, IL12A and IFNGR2. Though deficiencies in IFNGR2 have been associated with disseminated non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease [39], [40], this gene was not associated specifically with TB in a case-control study [41]. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is tuberculosis.
