Among the genes being down-regulated in the brains of Eya3 mutants, several are reported to be down-regulated also in Alzheimer's disease, e.g. ARPP19 [31], BIRC4 [32], MT3 [33], SYT1 [34] or TTR [35]. This evidence concerns the gene EYA3 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
