Supporting a role for GM-CSF in enhancing the pro-asthmatic capacity of DCs, this cytokine selectively promotes the expansion of myeloid DCs in vivo[67], increases the expression of MHC Class II and CD86 on DCs in a murine model of asthma [24], and enhances the capacity of DCs to support Th2 differentiation in both mice [27], [67] and humans [68].
