In the Miller dataset with information on p53 status of individual tumors, we also found a strong association between lactic acidosis and p53 status: the estimated “lactic acidosis pathway activity” based on gene expression is significantly higher in wild type p53 tumors than in those with p53 mutations (p = 3.288×10−11) (Figure 3D). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and lactic acidosis.
