NFKB1 and prostate carcinoma: We have also demonstrated (Xu et al, 2005) that the suppression of NF-κB and NF-κB-regulated gene expression (VEGF, cyclin D1 and Bcl-XL) by chemopreventive isothiocyanates sulphoraphane and phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC) is mainly mediated through the inhibition of IKK phosphorylation, particularly IKK-β, and the inhibition of IκB-α phosphorylation and degradation, as well as the decrease of nuclear translocation of p65 in human prostate cancer PC-3 cells.
