Y-box binding protein-1 (YB-1) is an oncogenic transcription/translation factor that is overexpressed in a number of cancer types, including breast cancer [1,2], prostate cancer [3], bone cancer [4], lung cancer [5,6], colon cancer [7], muscle cancer [8] and, most recently, pediatric brain tumours [9].
