Galectin‐1 has been implicated in glioma adhesion and migration 5, 6, 7, 32, and in this report we suggest that the galectin‐1 influence on integrin‐β1, PKCε, and vimentin localization provides evidence that galectin‐1 utilizes integrin trafficking pathways to impel glioma malignancy. This evidence concerns the gene VIM and central nervous system cancer.
