At ASCO 2008, lapatinib monotherapy was evaluated in patients with HER2 positive relapsed/refractory inflammatory breast cancer.[4] In this study, 126 HER2 positive patients with inflammatory breast cancer refractory to anthracyclines, taxanes, and traztuzumab were treated with continuous lapatinib monotherapy at 1500 mg daily. Here, ERBB2 is linked to inflammatory breast carcinoma.
