In addition to potential new diagnostic markers (SCG2, SCG3, DDC, MAOA, NEFM, CLDN4, PEROX2), genes critical in the processes of tumour invasion, progression and metastasis (MME, STAT3, DCBLD2, S100A10, CD9, S100A8), tumorigenesis (BEX1, TMEPAI, FOSL1, RAB32) and drug-resistance (ABCC6, GSTP1) were identified, as well as several genes with hitherto unknown functions. This evidence concerns the gene CD9 and neoplasm.
