To investigate further the role of promoter DNA methylation of genes aberrantly hypermethylated in cancer in hESCs, we compared the DNA methylation and expression status of four of the genes identified in the methylation arrays (MGMT and SLC5A8 [17], [18] from Class B-I, and PYCARD and RUNX3 [19], [20] from Class B-II).
