To understand the role of CREB in normal and neoplastichematopoiesis we investigated the expression of CREB in primary cells from patients with acute lymphoblastic (ALL) and myeloid leukemia and found that CREB was overexpressed in the majority of leukemia cells from patients with ALL and AML at the protein and mRNA levels [2,3,12]. The gene discussed is CREB1; the disease is myeloid leukemia.
