A number of studies have identified increased plasma concentrations of chemokines, including 'regulated upon activation normal T-cell expressed and secreted' (RANTES), monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)-1, IL-8, IFN-inducible protein 10 (IP-10), and monokine induced by IFN-γ (MIG), in patients with active SLE [9-12]. Here, CXCL8 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
