GOLM1 and Familial prostate cancer: Very recently, this widely acknowledged upregulation of GOLPH2 was put into practise: Laxman et al (2008) included GOLPH2 in a multiplex RT–PCR panel of markers composed of transcripts known to be overexpressed in prostate cancer, which, as a urine-based screening test, allows detecting prostate cancer with a higher sensitivity than a classical PSA blood test.
