In this context it has been shown that PPARα ligands suppress the growth ofseveral cancer lines—including colon, liver,breast, endometrial, and skin—in vitro [62–66], as weall inhibit the metastatic potential of melanoma cells in vitro and in vivo [67, 68].Furthermore, PPARα ligands decrease colon carcinogenesis [62] and the growth of humanovarian cancer in mice [49].
