PPARG and cancer: Recently, PPARγ ligands have been described as suppressingtumor cell proliferation as well as inducing apoptosis and a moredifferentiated phenotype in several types of cancers [15], including adrenocortical carcinoma [10, 16], thus suggesting the use of these drugs as a potential new anticancer therapy. However, all these studies have been performed either in vivo, on animal models,or in vitro, on human cancer cells.
