Some studies have suggested that the DNMT3B -579 G>T may modify susceptibility to tumors, although conflicting results have been reported in different tumor types, the heterozygous genotype have been reported to have a significantly reduced risk of developing lung and colorectal cancer [25-27], but DNMT3B genetic polymorphism is variable in different races, ethnic groups or geographic areas. The gene discussed is DNMT3B; the disease is neoplasm.
