CD8A and HIV infectious disease: Since we aimed to investigate the potential prognostic effect of functional CD8+ T cells early after HIV infection, we analysed the capability of Gag-specific CD8+ T cells to produce cytokines upon in vitro stimulation of T cells sampled approximately one year after seroconversion in each individual (median 12.3 months post seroconversion, range 0.3–20.4 months post seroconversion), when the viral set point has been established.
