PTGER1 and colonic neoplasm: Our finding that the pro-inflammatory cytokine PGE2 upregulates FasL expression in colon cancer cells adds another pro-neoplastic activity to this pathway, that is, tumour immune evasion, and suggests that targeting the PGE2–EP1–FasL signalling pathway may aid in the development of new therapeutic strategies to both prevent and treat this malignant disease.
