CML patients diagnosed at accelerated or blast crisis phase showed significantly higher level of AQP5 expression than those diagnosed at chronic phase, while CML patients who gained imatinib mesylate resistance at chronic phase exhibited significantly higher level of AQP5 expression than those who gained resistance at accelerated or blast crisis phase (p = 0.03, p = 0.04, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene AQP5 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
