LTBR and cerebellar ataxia: We show here that LTβR deficient mice did not develop ECM and survived more than 20 days, while C57BL/6J wild type mice developed typical neurological signs of CM, including postural disorders, ataxia, impaired reflexes and loss of grip strength, progressive paralysis and coma, and succumbed within a week after infection with 5–10% of parasitized erythrocytes (Figure 1A).
