Three cases of sepsiscaused by coagulase-negative staphylococci could have lowered the sensitivityof CD64 expression on neutrophils in our study, whereas in the other study [9]there were no such cases. In children, there are only two reports of 14 infants and children, and 8children, respectively, hospitalized because of different bacterial infections(mostly pneumonias and pyelonephritides) in whom CD64 expression on neutrophilswas significantly higher compared with noninfected controls [13, 14]. Here, FCGR1A is linked to pneumonia.
