Solbach et al (2004) published an initial observation on securin mRNA overexpression in association with lymph node involvement and tumour recurrence. In concordance with our present findings, Ogbagabriel et al (2005) have reported securin immunohistochemistry in 55 invasive ductal carcinomas and detected a statistically significant correlation with metastatic disease, especially in brain metastases. This evidence concerns the gene PTTG1 and metastatic neoplasm.
