MAPK3 and diabetes mellitus: Basal levels of phosphorylated formsof MAPK proteins were measured to determine if diabetes altered MAPK activation.Immunoblot analysis using phospho-specific antibodies indicated that the basallevel of phospho-Erk1/2 was 41.2 ± 13.3% and 45.1 ± 13.4% lower (P < .05), respectively, in OSXZ soleus compared to LNZ, with no significantdifference in the plantaris (see Figure 2).
