CHKA and hepatocellular carcinoma: This was accompanied by a significant decrease of proliferationin the transformed foci, and an overexpression of the CKi p27kip1 inthe pioglitazone-treated group compared to control, thus reproducing some ofthe results obtained in vitro. Finally, Yu et al. published their results on the effect of troglitazone, invitro and in vivo in a nude mice model, injected subcutaneously with thehuman Huh7 HCC cell line [14].They could show quite convincingly that troglitazone, at the 200 ppmconcentration, either inhibited the appearance of HCC, or decreased the growthof existing ones.
