Our studies havedemonstrated that Wnt7a signaling through its receptor Fzd9 inhibits transformedgrowth of NSCLC cell lines [48].Further studies indicated that this pathway leads to increased PPARγ activity through activation of ERK5, and that this increase inPPARγ activity mediated the antitumorigeniceffects of Wnt7a/Fzd9 signaling [49]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
