INS and complication: Postprandial hyperglycemia has long been known to be a risk factor for diabetic macrovascular complications [6,7,15-17], and in agreement with this, our study results also demonstrated that daily glycemic profile tended to be higher after lunch in the 30 Mix group after 6 months of insulin therapy than in the BB group (unpublished data), suggesting that more rigorous glycemic control may have contributed to the trend for a decrease in IMT becoming manifest in the 30 Mix group.
