In M. oryzae, isocitrate lyase (ICL1) of the glyoxylate cycle, a HEX1 ortholog, PTH2 peroxisomal acetyl carnitine transferase, the multifunctional β-oxidation protein MFP1 and MgPex6, which is required for peroxisome biogenesis, were found to be necessary for functional appressorium development and fungal infection [30,57-59]. The gene discussed is PTH2; the disease is fungal infectious disease.
