BMI1 and Familial prostate cancer: Although Glinsky et al found low BMI-1 mRNA expression to be associated with less aggressive tumours of prostate cancer, a finding that is supported by others in studies of non-small-cell lung cancer and breast carcinomas (Vonlanthen et al, 2001; Raaphorst et al, 2003), we found that low BMI-1 expression is associated with markers of a more aggressive phenotype in endometrial cancer, even though no significant prognostic impact of BMI-1 expression is seen.
