In Israeli Ashkenazi subjects (577 T2D and 552 NGT), CDKN2A/2B (ORrs564398 = 1.26 [1.03–1.53], P = 0.02), CDKAL1 (ORrs7754840 = 1.30 [1.08–1.56], P = 0.005; ORrs7756992 = 1.24 [1.03–1.49], P = 0.02), IGFBP2 (ORrs1470579 = 1.34 [1.12–1.61], P = 0.001) and EXT2 (ORrs729287 = 0.43 [0.21–0.88], P = 0.02) were more prevalent in the T2D group than in NGT individuals (Table 4). The gene discussed is CDKN2A; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
