We assessed the methylation status of four colorectal cancer cell lines (MIP101, RKO, HT29, and HCT 116) and one normal colon cell line (CCD 112CoN) and observed hypermethylation in the promoter region of MIP 101 and RKO cells flanked by both MSP1 and MSP2 (Figure 3A). This evidence concerns the gene MIP and colorectal cancer.
