We note that the approach outlined in this paper could be extended to other markers associated with congestive heart failure found in blood and serum such as myoglobin, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), NT-proBNP, and Troponin I (cTnI) to provide a comprehensive test panel for myocardial infarction, minor myocardial damage, and profiling of at risk and/or post operative patients with heart disease or a predisposition for heart disease. The gene discussed is TNNI3; the disease is myocardial infarction.
