Among all the other drugs, only two presented a strong activity against yeast prions: Tacrine (TA), a cholinesterase inhibitor in clinic for the symptomatic treatment of memory loss in Alzheimer's disease [22], and Guanabenz acetate (GA), an agonist of α2-adrenergic receptor used in the treatment of hypertension [23].
