Most recently, four CAD/MI genome wide association studies (GWAS) [10-13] concomitantly identified genetic association of a region on chromosome 9p21.3 adjacent to the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A) and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2B (CDKN2B) genes within independent MI and CAD populations. Here, CDKN2B is linked to coronary artery disorder.
