Family-based association performed in the ACS families using APL identified sixteen SNPs that were significant at p ≤ 0.05 (Figure 1, Additional files, Table 3), three of which also displayed linkage: rs10912660 in the ankyrin repeat domain 45 gene (ANKRD45), rs12092963 in the ral guanine nucleotide dissociation gene (RGL1), and rs1891586 in FAM5C (Figure 1, bold). The gene discussed is RGL1; the disease is acute promyelocytic leukemia.
