When β-catenin expression was scored in these same colon cancers, a highly significant inverse correlation between the level of SIRT1 expression and nuclear β-catenin localization became apparent (p≤0.003, odds ratio 0.24 with 95% confidence interval 0.093–0.63) (Fig. 5A, B). The gene discussed is SIRT1; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
