An RT–PCR analysis of pancreatic tissue samples (2 normal pancreas, 8 pancreatitis, and 14 pancreatic cancer) revealed a faint amplification product (confirmed as NGAL after sequencing) in the normal tissues, a moderate-to-strong band in pancreatitis, and a strong amplification product in all pancreatic cancer samples (Figure 2). Here, LCN2 is linked to pancreatic neoplasm.
