CRP and myocardial infarction: Interestingly, C-reactiveprotein levels predicted the risk of myocardial infarction at presentation forthe entire cohort but were not predictive of major adverse cardiac events inthe group that was negative for troponin T. In the cohort that was consistentlynegative for troponin T, the areas under the curve for MPO were significantlyhigher than those for troponin T, CK-MB, and C-reactive protein.
