We have previously identified a haplotype at chromosome 19q13.2-3 encompassing three SNPs in the genes ERCC1 (excision repair cross complementary group1), ASE-1 (antisense ERCC1, alias CD3EAP) and RAI (RelA-associated inhibitor, alias iASPP or PPP1R13L), strongly associated with risk of post-menopausal breast cancer [2] and lung cancer [3,4], and a recent Norwegian study has reported a possible association with risk of colorectal cancer among women [5]. Here, POLR1G is linked to lung carcinoma.
