Insulin sensitivity index measured by QUICKI wassignificantly higher in subjects without the MetS than with MetS according toboth definitions without any gender difference (IDF criteria:0.35±0.18 versus 0.32±0.02, P<.001; NCEP criteria:0.35±0.02 versus 0.32±0.02, P<.001). Here, INS is linked to metabolic syndrome.
