Another potentially interesting herein found up-regulated transcript encodes for the purinergic receptor P2Y (or G-protein coupled receptor 86), which has not only been described playing a role in some leukemias and cancers[26,27], but has recently been implicated in the risk of atherothrombosis, namely ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction and venous thromboembolism[28]. The gene discussed is P2RY13; the disease is venous thromboembolism.
