Further analysis demonstrated that IT gastric carcinomas with a more favorable prognosis were prone to high levels of proliferation and apoptosis and also always accompanied by a strong expression of the fragile histine triad (FHIT), phosphatase and tensin homology deleted from human chromosome 10 (PTEN), p53, and extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (EMMPRIN) [30]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is gastric carcinoma.
