Previous studies have demonstrated the good efficacy of lanreotide Autogel in the management of patients with acromegaly.8–12 Differing sensitivities to somatostatin analogues among patients with acromegaly mean that the doses of lanreotide required to normalize serum IGF-I levels will vary.9 Thus, individualizing dosing relies on appropriate dose titration for optimal control of serum IGF-I levels.9 The aim of this open-label study was to evaluate the efficacy of repeated injections of lanreotide Autogel for 48 weeks in a large cohort of patients with acromegaly.
