For patients with an elevated risk of breast cancer recurrence, in whom clinicians would be inclined to use an anthracycline followed by a taxane, it may be possible to use molecular markers such as co-amplification of topoisomerase iiα (TOP2A) and her2 as predictors of benefit from adjuvant anthracycline-based therapy46–50. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
