In the group of patients with HCC, the proportion of male subjects, duration of infection, serum ALT, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin, hyaluronic acid, haemoglobin, iron, transferrin saturation, and ferritin levels at liver biopsy were significantly higher, and HCV-RNA titres and platelet count were significantly lower, than in the group of patients without HCC during the follow-up. Here, TF is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
